Idlewild is an independent designer boutique located in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, offering a considered selection of women’s and men’s clothing, shoes, accessories, and objects from independent and international designers.
Form Studio is a new workshop series hosted at Form by Idlewild, celebrating material, form, and thoughtful making. No prior experience is required – all tools and guidance are provided.
Join us for an evening of hands-on making as we explore leather, paper, and functional design while crafting your very own ‘Traveler’s Journal’.

Rooted in centuries of travel, documentation, and personal record-keeping, the Traveler’s Journal traces its origins from ancient travel logs to a modern revival in early-2000s Japan. Designed to be flexible, portable, and deeply personal, it has long served as a companion for travelers, artists, and everyday observers alike. More than a notebook, the Traveler’s Journal is a living object—meant to collect notes, sketches, memories, and ephemera over time, reflecting the life of the person who carries it.
