The Panini Pulled Skirt by Issey Miyake is a knit skirt characterized by a silhouette that moderately follows the body, created through flat pressing. Pressing a blended yarn of thermoplastic synthetic fiber and wool-alpaca creates a crisp, firm texture and a subtle sheen not usually seen in knitwear. Molds are sandwiched inside and pressed, much like the fillings in a panini, and the edges where nothing is sandwiched are firmly fused together.Due to the nature of the manufacturing process and the nature of the material, the texture and sizing of this product vary from item to item. Please note this in advance.

Issey Miyake

Legendary Japanese designer Issey Miyake debuted his eponymous womenswear label in 1971, charting a half century of work in fashion design. An industry pioneer, Miyake’s clothing blends traditional Japanese techniques with forward-thinking technology. The brand is famous for their pleating technique which led to the debut of Pleats Please in 1993. Much of Miyake’s work is informed by an architectural approach to design, seen in sculptural silhouettes and clothing with purpose. Vibrant colors, advanced pattern making, and a devotion to curiosity are hallmarks of this fashion house now led by Satoshi Kondo.
