The Allow (Stripe) Skirt by Issey Miyake features a fine striped pattern on a stretch fabric blended with washi paper. The base fabric alternates Washi paper and cotton in the weave, with slightly thicker cotton 60/2 yarn used for the stripe pattern. Laying the border-woven fabric horizontally means it can be used as a textile with a vertical stripe design that stretches horizontally. The long skirt is characterized by its smooth feel and simple stripe pattern.

Issey Miyake

Legendary Japanese designer Issey Miyake debuted his eponymous womenswear label in 1971, charting a half century of work in fashion design. An industry pioneer, Miyake’s clothing blends traditional Japanese techniques with forward-thinking technology. The brand is famous for their pleating technique which led to the debut of Pleats Please in 1993. Much of Miyake’s work is informed by an architectural approach to design, seen in sculptural silhouettes and clothing with purpose. Vibrant colors, advanced pattern making, and a devotion to curiosity are hallmarks of this fashion house now led by Satoshi Kondo.
