The Panini Pants in Red by Issey Miyake feature a wide knit design with a loose weave, giving them a semi-sheer appearance.

Challenging the viewer’s preconception.
Giving something that is supposed to be soft a sense of stiffness, exploring an iteration that is in between. By blending wool/alpaca yarn with thermoplastic synthetic fibers, when heat-pressed, the fabric hardens and forms crisp edges with a slight sheen—unusual for knitwear. The knitwear has an oversized fit with a crisp silhouette, juxtaposing rigidity and softness.

Made in Japan.

Issey Miyake

Legendary Japanese designer Issey Miyake debuted his eponymous womenswear label in 1971, charting a half century of work in fashion design. An industry pioneer, Miyake’s clothing blends traditional Japanese techniques with forward-thinking technology. The brand is famous for their pleating technique which led to the debut of Pleats Please in 1993. Much of Miyake’s work is informed by an architectural approach to design, seen in sculptural silhouettes and clothing with purpose. Vibrant colors, advanced pattern making, and a devotion to curiosity are hallmarks of this fashion house now led by Satoshi Kondo.
