These Looped Pants from Issey Miyake have a playful design featuring a unique belt loop that lets you thread the belt through a different route, creating an unconventional look. Crafted from a fabric that drapes beautifully away from the skin, they have just the right amount of stretch and can be washed by hand, making them an easy item to incorporate into everyday life.

Sculpture or garment?
These series explore the garment form of a blazer as a sculpture. Yarn made from washi paper is used to recreate the surface texture of a sculpture, while stretch yarn is used to give suppleness to the fabric. The garments are worn by fastening the zippers, to complete the sculpture-like forms that adapt to each individual wearer.

Made in Japan.

Issey Miyake

Legendary Japanese designer Issey Miyake debuted his eponymous womenswear label in 1971, charting a half century of work in fashion design. An industry pioneer, Miyake’s clothing blends traditional Japanese techniques with forward-thinking technology. The brand is famous for their pleating technique which led to the debut of Pleats Please in 1993. Much of Miyake’s work is informed by an architectural approach to design, seen in sculptural silhouettes and clothing with purpose. Vibrant colors, advanced pattern making, and a devotion to curiosity are hallmarks of this fashion house now led by Satoshi Kondo.
