Family Photo Outfit Ideas

Posted by Tessa Clark on

It's that time of year! What to wear for family portraits!? We get a lot of questions about what to wear for family photos, so we came up with a few ideas for you that are interesting but not too crazy!

Use our guide below to inspire your family portraits this year. We compiled collections for you to shop for each concept as well.
FAMILY PORTRAIT STYLING CONCEPTS

BOLD BLACK & WHITE

Style the family in a bold black and white theme. Keep the prints to a minimum with no more than two, and use solid black and whites to break up the prints. Ensure the background is fairly minimal so it doesn't distract from the color story. Shop our curated selection of Black and White garments here.

COLOR BLOCK IT

Choose one color and balance it with blacks and grey to ground the looks. Make sure each look varies in where the person is wearing the color. Someone should wear a colorful shoe, the other a colorful top or dress. Shop our curated selection of colorful garments here.

COZY AND MONOCHROME

Go neutral and cozy with family portraits — but make it all about the texture and volume! Even if you think it's enough, push it further. Let the texture do the talking. Shop our curated selection of cozy netural garments here.
